Tras sopesar varios destinos para las vacaciones de este año —entre los que barajaba Chipre (5B), Portugal (CT) y Cabo Verde (D4)— finalmente me he decantado por este último.

Después de analizar diferentes opciones de alojamiento, he elegido un ático en Praia, la capital de la Isla de Santiago. El lugar ofrece excelentes condiciones para instalar las antenas, siempre contando con el visto bueno del propietario.

Con el destino confirmado, el siguiente paso fue la gestión de la licencia. Tras contactar con el regulador de telecomunicaciones de Cabo Verde (ARME) y gracias a la inestimable ayuda de mi amigo PierPaolo (D44PM), el pasado 15 de mayo me concedieron oficialmente el indicativo D44EC.

La actividad será desde el 17 al 24 de junio, desde Praia (Locator HK84), aunque si surge la oportunidad durante mi estancia, intentaré desplazarme a la Isla de Fogo para activar los locators HK75 y HK74.

Espero que la propagación nos acompañe y poder escucharos a todos en las bandas.

After considering several holiday destinations this year—including Cyprus (5B), Portugal (CT), and Cape Verde (D4)—I finally decided on the latter.

After analyzing different accommodation options, I chose a penthouse in Praia, the capital of Santiago Island. The location offers excellent conditions for installing antennas, provided I have the owner’s approval.

With the destination confirmed, the next step was obtaining the license. After contacting the Cape Verde telecommunications regulator (ARME) and thanks to the invaluable help of my friend PierPaolo (D44PM), I was officially granted the callsign D44EC on May 15th.

The activity will take place between june 17th an 24th, will be from Praia (locator HK84), although if the opportunity arises during my stay, I will try to travel to Fogo Island to activate locators HK75 and HK74.
